Confined Water Dive 2

It's been a few weeks since I posted on here again, I really have got to stop forgetting to post stuff on here!
Last night I completed my second confined water dive towards my PADI Open Water Diver course. I also completed my first three knowledge reviews on Tuesday which allows me to complete up to confined water dive 3 I think. This session was an interesting one as I learnt how to set up all my kit properly, how to break it down again, and then put it all back together again. Once that was sorted, it was getting the scuba gear on and I'm not sure I will ever get used to the weight of the cylinder it's deceptively heavy!
Once we had all the scuba equipment on run through the checks, and then time to dive. This week instead of just getting in the pool and putting on the scuba equipment in the water we did a deep entry and I have to admit I was really looking forward to that! In a sad way I kinda felt like James Bond in Thunderball, or 'Bud' in The Abyss. Once in the water we did a few snorkel skills and then it was time to descend and get to the scuba skills.
The main skill for this session I was dreading was the mask removal and replacement, and also the breathe without a mask for 60s, however I found this dread was completely stupid as it's really not that bad at all, just have to stay calm remember it's not really any different to when you hold your breath and swim to the bottom of the pool as a kid, only you can breathe now. I managed to complete those with no problems at all and actually quite enjoyed the experience! During this session there was also an air depletion exercise which simulates running out of air, having drained a tank dry on a Discover Scuba course before I knew exactly how this felt already hehe.
There were other skills covered during this session which were also pretty good fun too and I had another great time diving, hopefully going again on Friday to complete my Confined Water Dive 3 :-)
